In the coming weeks, AECOM will be conducting surveys for the Fall 2026 field program which is intended to collect additional baseline environmental data needed to support the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed New Nain Airport Project.

The program will gather data to document fall migratory bird activity, waterfowl use, seabird and marine mammal presence, as well assess fish habitat, stream flow, hydrology, and water quality conditions (including installing water-level loggers and collecting water samples).

The field program is designed to provide scientifically defensible, seasonally representative environmental information that will strengthen project effects assessments and mitigation planning of the proposed airport and access road.

Community consultations will be held in 2027 to meet with the public to gather additional information.
