The Department of Language, Culture and Tourism is accepting applications within Nunatsiavut, Upper Lake Melville and Canadian Constituents that reside in Canada. 10 applicants (individuals or family members) can apply to attend the Inuit Connection Program at the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station for the Summer 2025 Season.
Beneficiaries will be selected on the merit of their applications. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Applicants must be willing to travel by charter to Nain and then to the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station. Travel by speed boat and helicopter may also be expected
This project, led by Parks Canada in partnership with the Nunatsiavut Government and Makivvik, aims to help Nunatsiavut and Nunavik Beneficiaries reconnect with their homeland. It also provides opportunities explore how to make the park a living, vibrant Inuit homeland that is meaningful in the present and the future. The following are specific to the project:
- intended to provide funding for 10 Beneficiaries to explore the park and connect at the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station during its operational season for a one-week period;
- participants must have a strong connection and interest to their homeland and whose insights will enhance future programming and discussions.
The program will run the week of August 9-16, 2025.
