The Nunatsiavut Assembly today voted to accept the recommendation of First Minister Melva Williams to appoint George Gear, the Ordinary Member for Postville, as Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
Mr. Gear, a former conservation officer with the department, brings extensive experience in managing both renewable and non-renewable resources. His background in conservation and resource management will strengthen the Nunatsiavut Government’s ongoing efforts to balance sustainable development with environmental stewardship, says the First Minister.
“Mr. Gear has dedicated much of his career to protecting and managing our lands and resources. His knowledge, experience, and commitment to our communities make him the right person to lead this important portfolio. I am confident he will serve Nunatsiavut with integrity and vision.”
