The Department of Language, Culture and Tourism is accepting applications within Nunatsiavut and Upper Lake Melville for 10 applicants (individuals or family members) for the 2026 Inuit Connection Program at the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station.
The Inuit Connection Program is for Beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement with connections to the Torngat Mountains region. It is offered in partnership with the Nunatsiavut Government, Parks Canada and the Makivik Corporation. The goal of the program is to enable Beneficiaries from Nunatsiavut and Nunavik to reconnect with their homeland and to provide opportunities on how to make the park a living, vibrant Inuit homeland that is meaningful in the present and the future.
Participants must have a strong connection and interest to their homeland with insights to help enhance future programming and discussions. Applicants will be selected on the merit of their applications. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Applicants must be willing to travel by charter to Nain. Travel by zodiac and/or long liner will also be expected.
The Inuit Connection program will run the week of August 8-14, 2026.
