The Nunatsiavut Government is completing an Environmental Review of the Nain Wind Microgrid Project, under the Nunatsiavut Environmental Protection Act. Led by Natural Forces and the Nunatsiavut Secretariat, the Nain Wind Micro-Grid Project plans to build wind turbine(s), battery storage and associated infrastructure in Nain to reduce diesel reliance for electricity generation.
The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Tom Evans, is currently consulting the Public about the Nain Wind Micro-Grid Project and project modifications that have taken place since the original project registration in February 2021. Updated project information is available on the Nunatsiavut Government Environmental Review Registry (see links below). You can also request it by email from the proponent at jamie.hewlett@nunatsiavut.com.
