The Office of the Registrar of Beneficiaries in Nain is responsible for beneficiary registration and for maintaining a current Enrolment Register of Beneficiaries to the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement. The Registrar’s Office also provides support and coordination services for the Membership Committees and the Inuit Appeal Board to exercise their responsibilities for enrolment of beneficiaries.
It is crucial for the Nunatsiavut Government to have an accurate, up-to-date register of Beneficiaries to the LILCA. We need this data to prepare voters lists for elections; define and deliver Inuit specific programming; and negotiate financial agreements with the federal and provincial governments.
