A permit to access is required for non-beneficiaries of Nunatsiavut. The permits are issued by Nunatsiavut conservation officers and are available at any Nunatsiavut Government offices (which can be found in any of the five Nunatsiavut communities as well as Happy Valley-Goose Bay). There is no fee for a permit.

Laws of general application for fishing and hunting apply, such as bag limits and open season. The angling and hunting guides are issued by the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial government and they provide the hunting and fishing regulations.
