The Nunatsiavut Government’s Department of Education and Economic Development is pleased to announce a new Business Grant Program (BGP).

The purpose of the program is to help support Inuit business development across all sectors, industries and structures (including sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, non-profits, and more).

“This program is in response to requests from eligible Inuit businesses for assistance in their start-up, growth and diversification expenses,” said Gerald Asivak, Minister of Education and Economic Development. “As a government, we are proud of our Inuit-owned businesses and are excited to see the supports this program will provide.”

A total of $100,000 in funding is available each fiscal year (April 1-March 30). Eligible and approved applicants may receive up to a maximum of $10,000 annually, and up to $25,000 over the lifetime of the program. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted within a fiscal year.

To be eligible, applicants must be a Beneficiary of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement, be registered with the Nunatsiavut Government’s Inuit Business Registry, be a least 18 years of age and have a business banking account.
